The Old Prices Fork Elementary School Has Been Brought Back To Life As A One-Of-A Kind place to Live, Work, Eat, and Gather

The Old School offers innovative economic development opportunities for new or expanding local food-based entrepreneurs, including a commercial shared-use kitchen, local food restaurant and craft brewery. In addition, the Prices Fork Village Community Apartments, with a total of 32 new rental apartments, supports the sense of community that has been a hallmark of the old Prices Fork School for decades.

When The Old School is complete in 2020/21, a new mixed income, multi-generational community will exist in tandem with a dynamic commercial space creating a unique, one-of a-kind development supporting local entrepreneurs, food access, and a range of housing needs.

This multi-phased project involves the historic revitalization of a former elementary school in Montgomery County, within the Historic District of Prices Fork, in Southwest Virginia.

The Old School has generated an unprecedented amount of collaboration for a grassroots effort of its kind with 21 non-profits, businesses and local governments having pledged their time and resources toward implementation.

Live, Work, Eat, Gather, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit that provides guidance and support to The Old School. The mission of Live, Work, Eat, Gather, Inc. is to cultivate and nourish community through the support of local food and farms, the creation and growth of jobs, the security of a home, and the gathering of friends and neighbors.
